Establish two new inpatient mental health centers in San Diego during my first term to provide critical care for individuals struggling with psychological disorders—and help get people off the streets and into healing environments. I’ll also form a dedicated task force to work alongside police and reduce public drug use, prioritizing treatment and community safety over criminalization.
Jobs & Economic growth
Cut red tape on new developments that boost our economy and create jobs. I’ll revitalize key areas like 12th and Imperial into thriving business zones with shops and restaurants. My administration will also launch a San Diego Youth Works Program to support young people entering the job market with training, paid work, and career support.
Supporting Essential Workers & Fair Housing
I’ll introduce tax incentives to retain and support essential workers—police, firefighters, EMTs, nurses, teachers, and social service professionals—because they are the backbone of our city. I will also champion fair housing by advocating for legislation that prevents sudden rent hikes on first-time leaseholders in our communities.
Quality of Life & Community Equity
Declare a citywide emergency to combat homelessness with urgency, compassion, and resources. I’ll ensure public transportation is clean, modern, and accessible, veto laws that charge residents for Sunday parking, and work to reverse restrictive ordinances that limit community use of public spaces like beaches for events, fitness, and culture.
